How long does thermoforming tooling take?
Custom thermoforming tooling production requires 10–14 business days from approved 3D product dimensions. Tooling is required for each unique blister cavity shape — if you have multiple products with different dimensions, each requires separate tooling. Tooling cost is a one-time setup cost amortized over the production run. We retain tooling for repeat orders at no additional charge.
Can blister packaging be child-resistant?
Yes. Child-resistant blister packaging uses push-through foil blisters where each individual blister cavity is covered with a foil backing that the consumer pushes the product through — requiring simultaneous alignment and pressure that young children cannot reliably execute.
